SWAY

Sway is our second “interactive meditation” experience after "Pause". It uses your phone to track movements and provides in return an immersive audiovisual experience to help you gain focus and improve your attention.

Reaching Mindfulness

As a learning from Pause, we decided to integrate a more gamified approach with levels (varying difficulty), rewards 🏆 and a ranking system to help with retention. It was also an opportunity for us to try different approaches to meditation and interactions, provide different exercices to our users. Also it was a good opportunity to provide health related data to our users.  

We came up with six unique levels, where users will learn new techniques to be mindful in everydays' life situations and subtly practise mindfulness anytime and anywhere, while getting better and challenging themselves each time.

New interactions patterns as a way to relaxation

From simply moving your phone in your hand while sitting down or lying in bed, to gently swaying your body while waiting for the bus or even walking slowly around the office – Sway is designed to help users find focus in everyday life situations using “interactive meditation”.

We wanted an experience that could be used anywhere as you never know when you need to take a break from day to day stress. We also wanted to create a meditation app that could provide more advanced and varied exercices than "Pause" for advanced users.

Emotional design is obviously at the core of this product and nothing’s better than to create an emotional link with the product to further develop retention. However, we didn't want to just create a beautiful product. We wanted the effects on health to be true.

To make sure of it, all along the development, we tested our product with the EEG technology to confirm that the solution created was technically viable and activating the right brain emotional response.

Tests results were positive as every users data was suggesting a calming effect and an increased focus.
