CLEVER
CLEVER
The objective and vision for Clever was to position itself as the reference when it comes to EV (electric vehicle) charging solution.
We helped them with their digital strategy along with creating their product which would enable users to quickly find a charging station for their EV, check in real-time the availability status, pay on the go and connect smootly to the charging stations.

Kickoff & project structure
Minimal & Emotional design
Kickoff & project structure
First, and as a general rule for the projects I lead, we start by laying down the fundations of the product we want to create. In most cases, we like the one for all approach and involve our clients from the start to get a better understanding of their organisation and needs. It always start with a kickoff workshop to create, define and align on the following core basis:
• Problem scoping
• Target audience definition / personas
• Design principles
• Moodboards
• Typeface & brand identity
• Business goals & MVP scope
• Deliverables & roadmap
The process •
Ideation sessions → Desk research → Emphaty map → Tech spike & sync → First sketches → Architecture flow & wireframe → Prototyping & testing → Iteration → Visual design & motion assets → Documentation → Design QA
The product
For this product, following our design principles and branding, we tried to keep it minimalistic in terms of information & design as we wanted the application to be self explanatory and give a feeling of freedom to the drivers. Additionally, it needed to be connected clean and renewable energy.
Last but not least, when using your phone in a car, interactions and usability needs to be as efficient as they can be and visuals as explicit as possible.
After wireframing and sketching our first thoughts and ideas, I started to design various visual concepts, which we prototyped on Marvel & AE to validate ideas with users and stakeholders @ Clever. In parallel, together with the client, we defined the global aesthetic and values of the app, which would become the ambassador of their digital brand identity. Finally, all along the project, we also created and iterated on the design system so Clever could take over and build upon a variety of services and applications.

Easy Charging
Easy Charging
We wanted the charging process to be flawless and playful. As Clever is a new actor on the market, we wanted the app to introduce the charging station along with the brand so customers could get familiar with the physical object and create a visual association instantly.
As charging takes much more times than fueling today, we also decided to design the "while charging" experience. For the MVP, it only contained a few information. However, we had in mind to propose a smarter services than just displaying the time left and rate. Proposing drivers more accurate, smart tools and alternative options helping them to make better decisions. We could imagine, for instance, reducing the charging time by stopping more often on the way.
